In the past I have been asked to build websites for customers with clear views of what they want.
This is particularly true when it comes to the sites text, however this can be where the problems start.

Part of the process of creating a website that will get you noticed online by search engines is to optimise your sites text.

This optimisation can include taking into account what your core business does, which should be reflected in the ‘target keywords’.

Cramming your website with relevant keywords however can do more harm than good, and careful analysis and consideration needs to be made.

Those websites I have created in which the customer has insisted in supplying the text have often produced disappointing results in terms of visitor traffic, due to content structure etc.

Even worse is when you find out later on that the client has taken part of the text from an existing website. This is bad, not just from a legal point of view, but also because Google penalises duplicated content.
